furry medicine

After all of the daily logs I published during my month-long therapy vacation, I came home a little drained and a little nostalgic.  It was a tough re-entry this time.  The ocean, the family, the seafood, the squishy new little nephew.

*sigh*

So, in the middle of my melancholy, which included a couple of days of slumped shoulders and deep breathing, I decided to get me one of these.

Meet Chachi

The mixture of my return to reality and my kids turning into grown ups has led me straight into a mid-life thingy, and this puppy makes me feel better.  Two dogs and a bunny are good medicine for a lady that finds herself wanting to take care of someone.  Who knew?  My husband just smiles and holds the little guy and we are all a big happy family.

Plus the ears just got me as soon as I met him.  The dog, I mean.

Awww, so sweet! We've been looking for an English Bulldog. Man, they are expensive!

Karen, you should really tell kristina about english bulldogs...

I am so not a dog person, but that is a really cute dog. And I have to say, I'd have a tough reentry too- your vacation looked like amazing fun.

What a cute little guy!
Wouldn't it be nice if we could stay in vacation mode? But then again...

How large will this dog get? He is so cute. Chachi will help get through the mid life thingy for sure.

I understand about that "mid-life thingy". What a sweet antidote you found. :)

Is your other dog a teensy weensy bit jealous of that cute furry medicine?

I think that after leaving family and a month long vacation, you go through a mourning period. A puppy is better than packing up and moving back east, right?

To cute! Hope it helps but really the east coast and the beach doesn't even compare to Furry Meds!

I'm sure your husbands ears are darling too, but that puppy!!!!!!! SO darling.

Looks like you found a very cute cure for your blues. Vacations are wonderful and the better they are the harder to come back to reality. I bet this little guy will really help.

i have been resisting doing just that for a long time...i just haven't met the right dog yet...but your little fellow is quite captivating....it is like getting a baby....your holiday was amazing ...but those memories keep a person going for a long time. After we got back from mexico last winter, my mind was still there for months.....holidays are well worth taking....and puppies are just pure love...i want one too!

Oh my goodness!!!! He's adorable.
I don't know how you stand not having him on your lap every moment. Ya, the ears are adorable, but those eyes. I just wanna scratch his little ears!!!!

Embrace your midlifeness.

That dog is the cutest thing on the planet.

Big smiles about those cute ears. You are lucky. The best post-vacation gift I've ever seen.

I always tell my kids that they are lucky I didn't know how great dogs were before I had them or I may never have had children ha ha ;) I just love our little puppy... she loves unconditionally and doesn't talk back :)

We once took home a puppy with ears like that--best dog ever. Hey--I so feel for you. I will probably never have an empty nest but I worry about those who do and even those who will. I look at those gals who have three or four babies in a row and think about how soon it will all be over, every stage of their children's lives, gone in whole chunks. Well, nature abhors a vacuum so I am sure the Lord will be sure to fill your days with something good and wonderful very soon.
