day forty: put a ring on it

I have slipped a ring on the finger of my commitments.

This door swings open and shut a lot during each day. We each go to school or work, come home, go back out to other engagements. Back again. Go out to check the mail or to talk with neighbors out in the yard. And back.

But each day when I leave to head out to work with my special kiddos I know I am doing good. And the BYU thing? I enjoy it and want to do my best with those commitments too. But family first. Always first. The ring is big enough to encompass all of these.

Those are beautiful curtains. And I'm assuming they're your ring. Such a lovely way to remind you!

Put a ring on it ---I'd like to put a Lid on It (as in, enough already)
But whatever our commitments are ---sign, seal, deliver, put a ring on it.
Get it done ----make it important.

For all the traffic that comes in and out of that door, your carpet sure looks good!
You need a BIG ring to encompass all you're doing.

i think as women the ring has incredible give to encompass all that we do, all those we care about, and once in a while, even the nurturing we need to give to ourselves.

I love this concept...I need to remember my ring is large enough as well...
