day 157: sugar, substitute

Sitting down to a yummy dinner tonight all I could think of was eating something sweet.  So I did what any honest, self-respecting mom would do.  I blamed my son and ran to the store to buy him donuts.  I checked them to make sure they were safe.  They were.

I crave donuts probably 95% of my life. We pass the stupid donut store all the time, just in case I forgot I wanted some.

Yeah, pastries... so bad they're good. :)

Oh, oh. It must have been a Friday craving. I went to Reams on the way home from school. Candice called and we talked for 20 minutes while I wandered aimlessly around the store. During the wandering I spied the donuts and bought myself a lovely Bismarck. I'll blame Candice for that! Glad they were safe for your kids!

You are a good mom to throw yourself on the grenade like that. Keep up the good work!!

It's the "Mom Tax!" You know, payback for all the sleepless nights, missed permission slips, complaining, whining, etc. It's you being very, very generous.

Mmm...my favourite indulgence is caramel filled apple fritters. Heavenly.
