day 168: remade

Make-over shows crack me up.

I like the feeling of a virtual visit to a salon, and a virtual five grand to shop with in NYC.  Yeah, I like that.

Typically the woman starts off defiant and stubborn about cutting her hasn't-been-touched-since-4th-grade mane (like that is something to be proud of), and within the hour she is vogue-ing and hair flipping like a runway model.

Then I look up from my final spit after brushing my teeth before bed and call to my husband, "Hey, Hon, can you call Clinton and Stacey (What Not to Wear) and turn me in?"

I'll turn you in if you'll turn me in. I could use a trip to NY, a day at the salon and a 5k spree. Who couldn't?

ps. Love the profile. :)

You know, I laugh every time I watch that show. My favorite was a gal from Utah who was complaining that the $5000 shopping spree in NYC was "the hardest thing she had ever had to do." Yeah, you know what? Ship me to NYC with 5k and two professional stylists. It won't be the hardest thing I've ever done!!

I lurve Clinton and Stacey. I caught an episode where the gal got $50,000 and a shopping trip in Paris. How do I sign up for that one? What gets me is when people get all offended by their comments--don't they watch the show? I would be laughing my head off if they were saying those things to me.

I was just looking at the pics of your house-you have such a sense of style! Your home is beautiful and that twitter profile pic--ooh la la!

My favourites are the episodes where the change has a profoundly positive impact on the person's life. Moves me to tears at times.

Other episodes just make me giggle and wish someone would turn me in too...

What not to Wear -- oh mercy, If they could see me now.
I fun re-do and a shopping trip to NYC would be the bomb though
then I'd be back to levis, t-shirts, and flannel shirts.

I have often thought about running to Goodwill to buy the worst wardrobe ever, just so someone might turn me in. I would love it. :) Although, who knows? It's probably likely enough that I'd get turned in with my current wardrobe some days.

Those shows really do crack me up! I love how they think that if they buy a shirt for $50 that they have gotten a bargain!

I do like the idea of getting a small closet full of quality things that work for multiple reasons. Weeding out the cruddy cheap stuff sounds great to me.

I know! I keep trying to get someone to turn me in too! Maybe we should all team up? :)
Loved your profile story. It's great to learn more about you.

I love that show. I figure I'm too average to get turned it. I'm not extreme anything.

Ah well. Maybe someone can get me for wearing only plain colors and no prints. . .
