day 189: just a camera between us

My best friend came over on Sunday to shoot some new profile pictures for me, since I was changing up my design here.  She is a professional photographer, and though I have been on shoots with her before, and even lugged some of her stuff, she has never done a photo session with me (she has us on the calendar for a full family session in March before boy #2 leaves on his mission to Mexico).

Here are some that worked best for me.  Remember, she is a genius, in spite of the material she had to work with.

Genius? That's pretty strong language. But thank you.

And *I* think I was working with some pretty exceptional material. Just look at those eyes...those cheek bones...that sassy Kazzy style... Smokin!

It was fun. We can do this again any time you like. :)

You do have some gorgeous eyes, lady. :)

Thanks, friends. Hey, seriously though, a great photographer really helps. I seriously have never had someone just have me sit for my own portraits. It was actually fun since I felt comfy with the lady behind the camera. :)

Cute pictures. YOu look great!

I like your new design too. Any way you could make the font just a little bigger? For those of us losing our eye sight. :)

You're gorgeous. I think she totally captured the essence of *you* in these photos. amazing.

Kazzy | February 23, 2010 at 10:25 PM

Thanks, everyone. No more pics of me for awhile. I am completely burned out on myself since Sunday's shoot.

Connie | February 23, 2010 at 11:34 PM

They're all beautiful! I don't know which one is my favorite. My problem would be trying hard not to laugh out loud while getting a serious picture taken!
I would have let you borrow Clara if you had told me about this earlier!

Linde- I will work on a permanent fix on the point size. Thanks for mentioning that. You are right. It IS small.

Connie- there was plenty of laughing, like when G would come in and feed me grapes, etc. True story. He was lapping it up. He likes to pamper me AND see someone else pamper me.

I love the photos, I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I am still trying to figure out what to do with my blogs as far as style goes. I love the way yours is looking.

You asked if I was from LA, I am actually from Oceanside, which is just North of San Diego. When I got married The San Diego Temple was under construction. I have always loved the LA temple, so I was happy to be married there.

I realize that 46 is in no way old, but there's NO WAY you look 46. Gorgeous.

UTMomof4 | February 24, 2010 at 10:00 PM

Love the new pics! They are fabulous. I don't think I'd be comfortable doing a photo shoot of just me, I am not comfortable in front of a camera at all. I bet it was no problem though with your best friend doing it. Luann is a photography genius, our family pics she did are fantastic.

Lola Sharp | February 25, 2010 at 4:17 PM

Love the photos! She did an excellent job. And your eyes shine.

Mrs4444 | February 25, 2010 at 9:15 PM

Fantastic! And it is looking gorgeous in here, too! I love photographs taken by people we love; our comfort shines through. You both did a great job :)
