wedding recap in pictures

I missed my blog over these past 5 days or so, but it was a wonderful weekend as we got our boy #1 hitched to his beautiful bride.  Great fun, great visits, great food, great spirit.  I loved every second of it.

The photos following the ceremony are still being processed, but there were some terrific ones taken of the bride and groom before the big day, and also at the reception the night before the wedding (can I just add here how wonderful it was to have the big shindig the day before???).

So, for your viewing pleasure, here are the visual representations of the happiness we enjoyed over the last few days...

Our missionary was moved around as the evening progressed.  The cardboard cut out was life-sized, so it was even funnier!
Perry's band members each did an acoustic tribute to the happy couple.  It was really personal and nice.
In order left to right: My sister Jen, #4, Perry, Mindy, back of my niece's head, me, #3, and Geo.  Tearing up the dance floor.  :)
The photographer.  My BFF, Luann Hawker.  She is a magician behind the camera.

Now that's a wedding & reception I would've loved to sneak into!

We've attended 3 family weddings this year, each one unique and beautiful in it's own way. Each time, we soaked in (and brought home) some of the rediscovered joy of new love.

Congrats, Kazzy.

The happiness is just radiating off the screen - love it! Love the looks on their faces, and the dress and the food table, and oh my, that cake, and your outfit (what I can see of it), but mostly the happy-happy. Congratulations, hun.

So beautiful. I love the shots on the temple grounds. They just look like they adore each other so much.

It's like a storybook.

I'm glad you have a daughter now. :)

What awesome pics! And I love the missionary life-sized cutout. What a brilliant idea!

Okay. That is so very lovely. The pictures are gorgeous. Everything is kind of understated but very classy and elegant. And the idea of having the reception the night before? That is seriously brilliant. And practical. And I'm all about practical. I just love this. (and of course, looooove how the missionary was in attendance!)

Beautiful!!

I don't think I've ever seen the your clan look happier. That goes double for Perry and Mindy.

I love you guys and it was truly an honor for me to get to be there and photograph it all.

Looks wonderful! I love her dress---especially the sleeve length. That's the same place my brother and sister-in-law did their reception. Great place.

That looks like a wonderful warm and fun wedding and reception. It must have been because you say you had so much fun. Lovely. Congratulations to the bride and groom.

I keep telling my kids to remind me, when the time comes, that we want them to do the reception before the wedding - then the Moment is the Moment, not the pre-party-moment. Know what I mean?

The Way I See It | September 22, 2010 at 10:50 AM

Ahhh, I'm SO glad you posted these. I was waiting. We thought of you several times and wished we could've been there. Everyone looks so happy. I remember our 3 kids' weddings with much emotion and happiness. I wouldn't have changed a thing on any of them. They were all perfect days, and I'm glad yours was too. (I vote for the reception the night before too.)

Melanie Jacobson | September 22, 2010 at 10:51 AM

Oh, it all looks so amazing. Too bad my kids will never grow up enough to get married. Never, never, never! I won't let them!

Of course, I DO like the idea of grandbabies . . .

Jenny | September 22, 2010 at 3:34 PM

Such a wonderful looking wedding! The photos are amazing. Such a cute looking couple.

Charlotte | September 22, 2010 at 5:43 PM

Wonderful! I'm glad everything went well. Although it makes me freak out a little to think how soon this could be happening to me (especially if my oldest gets married as young as I did).

Midge | September 23, 2010 at 7:52 AM

What a fun night! The reception was so fun and the dancing?? Well, anyway.....

Congrats again to the happy couple.

Thank you for your note that the recption is so wonderful the night before a wedding! My daughter is planning a wedding in June, & we are looking at the probablility of recption first and wedding the next day. Anyway, thank you again! Good wishes for the bride and groom - and for the parents who get to finally have that spare room!
