road trip day 27: college day

My parents live about an hour from the Blue Ridge mountains, near the picturesque Shenandoah Valley in VA. We said goodbye to them, and #3, who is staying for 2 weeks, and headed west today. One thing we wanted to do was stop by Bridgewater College, where I spent my freshman and sophomore years. Great memories.

After Bridgewater we drove farther south in order to visit Southern Virginia University, which is a privately owned LDS university with about 800 students. Geo knew the provost, so after a short visit we walked around campus, exploring. This could be a possibility in the future.

Here are a few shots from our West Virginia stretch. Tomorrow we will push on to Kansas City.

This seems like the epic road trip to end all road trips. I'm loving all that you're doing---and jealous. I want to do something like this in the future.

We were at Southern Virginia the very first year it opened under LDS ownership. It was Southern Virginia College then. My husband taught math and physical science. Beautiful beautiful country that Shenandoah Valley!

Oh! A secret LDS University? Cool! :)

I miss the East. Jealous that Evie's there now.

Buena Vista is my home town! And my family still resides there. SVU is a very unique and special place. I love that you were able to visit it. So few people even know it exists. My dad worked there for 5 years and my siblings still attend there. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to discuss.
It's such a small, small world.

How do you feel about possibly moving back east?
