ash and smoke

photos taken by my friend in Nutrioso, AZ

ash under foot from past mistakes, regret, lessons learned

burned and hollowed out trunks stand as reminders of what we were

what we can become again, only better,
stronger, smarter

it is good to remember as we rebuild and regrow

we kick up the ash and inhale, allowing some of us back in

it is a cycle of fire, then green, then fire again

Beautifully said. I needed to read this today. If not for me, for loved ones. The fire hurts but the regrowth is promising.

No matter how much we try to redo ourselves, the real original us is still partly there.

I love this. Refining fire.

What astonishing pictures. Wow.

I love looking at the forests that are in the regrowth stage...so beautiful. And you can see that soon there won't be much reminder of the past fire.

Great analogy, as usual! :)

I hate the burning. But living in a place prone to wildfires, I've seen again and again that it never destroys all the way. So now I hate the burning a little less because I know it will be okay.

That was very good....I have been reading everyone else's comments, and their are many pieces of what they all said that I'd say Ditto to.
sometimes I feel like it is very difficult sometimes to "rebuild" ourselves, when we sometimes feel we have been "burned down".

Fire and destruction are important to the continuation of life but sometimes it's hard to accept that. Good post.
