day 352: my professor
On our very first date he sat across from me with his chin in his hands, listening to every word I said. Seriously. He listens. He talks.I live with a communicator. An expert communicator, actually. In our 23 years of marriage it has been him, more than me, that has wanted to talk about fixing things, about our feelings, and about relationship issues in general. He is exemplary in that way, and sometimes I admit that I forget that. I can be kind of negligent that way.
When we were first married it was hard for me to learn to share so much and so often. I grew up in a really close family, but we didn't necessarily sit for face-to-face "discussions", like my husband did. But over the years I have gotten used to it, and I have learned to really appreciate Geo's openness and willingness to stay close.
Doctor Burton, I love you.

I can't think of anything better than being even more in love with your partner after twenty-plus years than you were the day you married him. It goes without - and sometimes with - saying, that communicating is essential. And we teach each other, over and over again, until finally it takes almost no words at all. Just the right words.
This is so sweet. <3
What a great gift you have. Cherish it. There aren't many men that are like that and you truly have been blessed.
Isn't it a wonder to behold to be married to a man who sits and faces you and discusses real issues and actually knows how to listen??? You are blessed my dear.
That is just wondrous and wonderful. So glad for you both!
He's your better half? It's funny, I always thought it was you who was the communicator because you do it so well.
That is so sweet!
I'm blessed to be married to a pretty good communicator too. We're both very lucky! It'll be 11 years on the first of September for us.
I love DeNae's comment too.
From the many things you have said about your husband on here, I can tell he is the perfect person for you. And, wow, 20 plus and still going strong!
23 years of marriage, that is awesomesauce cool!
I ditto everything you posted here. My husband is much more of a communicator than I. (sigh) It's a pretty good balance we have between us, though. And I'm grateful.
PS: Happy weekend!!
It's amazing how everything can be going wrong, but when Faramir and I are in sync, it doesn't matter.
congrats to you!
