day 365: goal met

I wrote yesterday about the things I have learned over this past year of daily blogging.  It really has been an amazing thing to be a part of.  My life was busier this last year than it has been since I had little ones biting at my ankles and begging to be held constantly, yet I never felt like blogging was one of the chores that had to be done.  It was more like a place for expression and self-therapy.  And for that reason, I am still somewhat sane today.

During these past 365 days I have:

survived my first year as a special ed teacher
lived through 15 straight months of school at BYU
been a bishop's wife
recently been called to a busy church calling
welcomed a son home from Africa
sent son #2 off to Mexico
started helping with my son's wedding plans
painted and remodeled parts of my home

I don't say this to brag, but to remind myself that blogging has been a part of my coping with change and craziness in my life.  And it has helped me to become a much more reflective and observant person as life carried on at top speed.

I challenge anyone reading this to try and write more than might feel comfortable to you.  To reach a few inches further than you might choose.  To find more of yourself as you think about your day and your thoughts and your ideas.

No more numbered days starting tomorrow, but plenty more things to share.

I didn't realize that is what you set out to do.
WOW!
Seeing your "doings" this past year really is amazing!
I love the way you write and it's been fun to read.
Congrats on that accomplishment.

I think blogging is an outlet for many of us that just can't be replaced with anything else. The tough part is figuring how much you want to reveal to people.....

Yippee! You did what you set out to do. I would have to agree with you. Since I have started this same journey, only 42 days ago, I too, have seen how my perspective has change on how I look at my day. I am seeing how the pains, struggles and blessings are all intertwined to assist with who we are becoming. I can't wait to see where my journey takes me, but the one goal I did set for myself is to better understand through all it that I am truly a Daughter of God and He Loves Me!

You rock. I've been thinking of picking up the thread now that you're done. Blogging every day? Why not? It would be good for me.

And yet, I am a little afraid of the commitment!

Hooray!

I get so overwhelmed writing every day. I'll do it for a bit and then fizzle out. But I like how you were often short and sweet. You are truly an inspiration.

That's awesome.

I'm going to ponder this idea, the goal. I've always wanted my blogging to be personal, and maybe this is the way to do it.

Thinking.

I'm sorry I missed this day...I knew it was coming, and I meant to be here, but, alas, I missed it. (I've been busy on my novel and the kid was accepted to a major summer dance workshop in Philly-which is 40 minutes each way--etc., etc. I can't keep up.)

So, retroactively--- CONGRATS! *tosses confetti*
All 365 posts were poignant and said so much with such brevity.
I'm glad you're sticking around. I'd be sad without you here.

((hugs))
Love,
Lola
