i like my car just the way it is, thankyouverymuch

I drove my son to cello lessons today, exhausted from waking up at 5 a.m. to get #3 off to marching band before I went to exercise.  By the time we arrived at his teacher's house I was a bit woozy and shooed him in for his lesson so I could lean my seat back and take a little stretch.  4 p.m. is a tough time to drive when you are sleepy, just so you know.

After what felt like just a few minutes I awoke to pre-pubescent boys screaming right outside my car window, "No shooting near the car!"  As I pushed the button and slowly raised my seat I started to feel my car moving.  When I looked outside I saw a boy in a paintball mask sitting on the hood.  Needless to say, he was very sheepish when he saw me waving to him through the windshield.

Paint avoided.

Yikes! Close call.

I can imagine the look on his face. And it makes me giggle.

Good thing you didn't lose consciousness.

How did you wave to him?
Were you able to go back to sleep after that near hit?

Sounds like you were nicer than I'd have been. I'd have honked the horn good and loud to scare him off.

ha ha. The weirdest things always happen when you fall asleep in cars. One time I was waking up from a nap in my car between classes and I watched blearily on as a guy tried to park in a spot too small for his car and knocked someone's rear-view mirror off in the process. I felt bad for him but couldn't help snickering a bit.

I think napping through lessons is my #1 favorite part of having my kids play instruments.

Hey, I like to take little catnaps in the car sometimes too.

Looks like Kristina P. and Miss Robin are fighting over first place.

btw, I like you too. ;)

First of all--I'm here! Second, I hear ya about the wooziness. Yesterday was the first day of seminary for Mary so it was up early, so very very early that I couldn't even string words together for most of the day. Glad your car didn't get paintballed!

Goodness, even the paintballers are more courteous in UT than the rest of the world. Luckeeeee...

I couldn't even begin to count the people who bring their kids to my very quiet house for a piano lesson, and are out cold two minutes in. It's the first time they've sat down all day, and the melodious sound of my voice threatening their child with grave bodily injury if he doesn't start practicing is positively narcotic!

I always take naps out in the car while my kids are at lessons. I've never had quite that sort of experience. That is awesome and I bet the boy never forgets it, either.

Oh I would not have resisted honking that horn... LOL! :)

That was a close call, indeed. Getting some paintball stains on the car and windshield would have been dreadful and costly. Good for you!

It's not the best thing to wake one up from a quick nap, but in the end, all's well that ends well, eh?
