losing and winning
Tonight I enjoyed a little female comraderie around a nice big dining room table loaded with games and cards. I managed to avoid the M&Ms as I lost two out of three games, and that was a pretty nice accomplishment. Gotta keep the streak going on the whole "no chocolate and no eating after seven o'clock thing."Now, as I was sitting there playing Rage, I got this nice warm feeling about my neighborhood and the friends I have made here. We are working on our 17th year here in our little shire, and it is nice to be settled and to develop long-term relationships with people that I respect and enjoy keeping company with. What a cool blessing.

A greater treasure than you may know, my friend. You are truly blessed.
That is a very cool blessing, indeed. =]
I love our neighborhood and ladies' game night.
Sorry you shot 33% tonight.
You are a cool blessing to your neighborhood friends too!
Way to go with the self-control!
That is a great blessing. I know very few of my neighbors and don't really want to know the others. But I think a nice quiet neighborhood sounds so nice.
Love those small (wonderful) moments with friends!
Wish our neighborhood was like that.
I live in the same kind of setting--and truly am blessed because of it.
Pleasant pastime with good neighbors. Your evening sounds warm and fun.
We have a group of friends that host evenings like that. We send all the kids downstairs to watch a movie, and the grownups and the babies hang out upstairs, eating, laughing, and playing lots of board games. The nights always end too soon.
And I'm really impressed that you avoided the m&ms!
How awesome! A beautiful blessing, indeed.
yup, cool blessing for sure.
I miss my friends back home.
roots are a good thing
I'm looking forward to that but seeing we just moved here, I know it'll be a long time coming. Still, I'll look forward to it anyway.
I should've read this post before I tempted you with chocolate last night, TWO no-nos, sugar, AND it was after 7:00. Sorry I had forgotten your goal. You're doing so good. I also love the relationships we've developed over the years and I love being settled here.
Beautiful.
And I applaud you on keeping your hands off of the chocolate. I'm trying to get back in the groove, but not making it...
I know what you mean. We need to start thinking about selling our house once Kendall goes to college, but we would hate to leave this neighborhood, so hopefully, someone with a smaller house is also going to be moving! :)
