day 189: just a camera between us
My best friend came over on Sunday to shoot some new profile pictures for me, since I was changing up my design here. She is a professional photographer, and though I have been on shoots with her before, and even lugged some of her stuff, she has never done a photo session with me (she has us on the calendar for a full family session in March before boy #2 leaves on his mission to Mexico).
Here are some that worked best for me. Remember, she is a genius, in spite of the material she had to work with.
Photos taken by Luann Hawker at www.wholegrainphotography.net/ladyhawker.

Genius? That's pretty strong language. But thank you.
And *I* think I was working with some pretty exceptional material. Just look at those eyes...those cheek bones...that sassy Kazzy style... Smokin!
It was fun. We can do this again any time you like. :)
Loveliness! You have such warm eyes. Love the synchopy between our posts today.
Look how beautiful you are. I can NOT wait to meet you, you lovely lady.
You do have some gorgeous eyes, lady. :)
Thanks, friends. Hey, seriously though, a great photographer really helps. I seriously have never had someone just have me sit for my own portraits. It was actually fun since I felt comfy with the lady behind the camera. :)
Cute pictures. YOu look great!
I like your new design too. Any way you could make the font just a little bigger? For those of us losing our eye sight. :)
Really like the new design. I may have to employ Luann sometime...
Looks fantastic. Love the new look of the blog, too.
Just beautiful! I have never had anything done like this before.
I love your blog background too.
That must have been fun. I think they turned out GREAT.
and I am so glad I actually got to meet you in PERSON
yep. i love 'em. love 'em all. oh and love you and your bff too!!
You look beautiful and I love your new design!
You're gorgeous. I think she totally captured the essence of *you* in these photos. amazing.
Thanks, everyone. No more pics of me for awhile. I am completely burned out on myself since Sunday's shoot.
They're all beautiful! I don't know which one is my favorite. My problem would be trying hard not to laugh out loud while getting a serious picture taken!
I would have let you borrow Clara if you had told me about this earlier!
Linde- I will work on a permanent fix on the point size. Thanks for mentioning that. You are right. It IS small.
Connie- there was plenty of laughing, like when G would come in and feed me grapes, etc. True story. He was lapping it up. He likes to pamper me AND see someone else pamper me.
wow love the pictures and your blog looks great!!!!!
I love the photos, I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I am still trying to figure out what to do with my blogs as far as style goes. I love the way yours is looking.
You asked if I was from LA, I am actually from Oceanside, which is just North of San Diego. When I got married The San Diego Temple was under construction. I have always loved the LA temple, so I was happy to be married there.

Beautiful pics :)
Luann is amazing but so was her subject.
Sweet. Thanks, J and J.
I realize that 46 is in no way old, but there's NO WAY you look 46. Gorgeous.
Love the new pics! They are fabulous. I don't think I'd be comfortable doing a photo shoot of just me, I am not comfortable in front of a camera at all. I bet it was no problem though with your best friend doing it. Luann is a photography genius, our family pics she did are fantastic.
Love the photos! She did an excellent job. And your eyes shine.
Fantastic! And it is looking gorgeous in here, too! I love photographs taken by people we love; our comfort shines through. You both did a great job :)
