day 202: fumes
blue changing to honeydew green
two people in a closed room
rollers dipped and flying
as we splash on primer
to cover imperfections
to cover imperfections
to cover imperfections
to cover imperfections
and we cover us /
we enjoy isolation
and talk about sons and girls
and feelings /
i look up as i whiten the ceiling
and end up speckled
in paint and thoughts and life /

Love this!
So did you paint your bedroom?
caught the sonnet bug?
Reading this while listening to your latest Musical Monday song really made your poem's mood stand out.
Lovely.
This is far from a sonnet, which has counted stressed and unstressed syllables. Just a little ditty! ;)
Love it! I love the way you put words together that capture the moment so perfectly.
Such a sweet poem. Suddenly I want to paint...and share time with my husband. The hours he's gone at work are rather long some days.
This is awesome! I just love it!
very beautiful! Hope the room looks just the way you envision.
Painting!!!! The worst thing to have to do ever.
but....imperfections must be covered
and covered
and covered
I wish I could just cover myself with several coats of paint. Hmmmmmm
and honeydew green sounds lovely
Honeydew green IS lovely! You amaze me that you jump right in to the project with all you have going! It's good to be covered with more than paint while talking with your better half. Love your little ditty.
There's nothing quite like covering up imperfections.
Just stopping by to say hi.
It's March. When are we getting together?
I hope you post a picture of the finished project.
Karen, I love you. You're just plain awesome.
