day 205: the world doesn't have to be round

Today I heard someone say, The world is round.  What goes around comes around.

When people say that are they thinking only about revenge or bad karma?  Wouldn't it be nice if more often it meant,  Hey, thank you so much.  I am sure someone will do something nice for you today since you just helped me out.

Goodness and kindness can spread just as readily as greed and selfishness, but in this human experience carnality too often wins, and the eternal parts of us sit back and watch.  If this is what our round world symbolizes, give me back the days of the 16th century when explorers were afraid of sailing off the edge.

Great reflections. I need to remember to pay things forward. And more often than not, start the chain myself. And also let the bad go off the edge of the world. As it should.

Let the good come around, the bad fall off the edge. Have a lovely bowling day!

Paying it forward is my favorite thing ever! It's what my parents told me and I'm trying my very hardest to tell every one else that same thing.

When I was younger (OK, like 4 years ago), I used to think "That persons going to get it in the next life!" all revengeful and such. Now, though, I feel as if I have learned what the Nephites felt toward their Lamanite brethren--I am sad when I see people who do not know God's love for them. I'm not sure why this post reminded me of that, but it did.

As you mentioned, I don't do nice things to have nice things done back to me. I like the feelings associated with. Also, if someone returns the favor I am very grateful.

What great thoughts! What is wrong with taking an extra minute to tell someone thank you, or to help someone at the grocery store who just dropped a bag of flour? Or to find something positive to say to a perfect stranger?

Love it!

Neat painting! Is't the expression "You make your own good luck" the one they use when they are trying to say that good things happen to you b/c you do good things? I probably have it wrong. I think it is British so you probably know it better than I.
