day 223: suburban warriors

photo by Luann Hawker at www.wholegrainphotography.net

At the end of a full wonderful day, we went up into the mountains to take some family portraits.  This is one of our favorites.  We took some more traditional ones, which I will post later in the week once they are ready, but we have fun together as a family, so why not show it?

The man of the hour.  My #2 son, spending some time with his friends before leaving for his mission on April 7.

#1 getting his hair tweaked by his friend.  #3 watching.

Looking good.

#4 being a goof ball.

One of our bffs and my mom.

#2 and his tall friends.  Tall.  Friends.  The guy third from the left is about 7 feet.  Really.

The spread.

Prepping for handstands in the front yard at the end of the day.

Handstands.

Ending the day networking and playing games.

We all slept very hard last night. Great day.

I LOVE that first shot!! Super. You guys need your own TV series (or movie) so that can be the poster for it. Looks like a great day. So glad it went well. Thank you for sharing.

It was a beautiful morning. I'm glad you got some nice shots so that your memories will stay true.

And I think that family portrait is one of my all time favorites. It captures your personality as a family so well.

The colors you chose worked out great, too.

(And it's so well composed and shot, of course.)

That family portrait is AWESOME!

I am excited and sad when I think about my kids growing up.

Such bittersweet times! It's great to have all those memories---but killer when someone leaves.

I love it when you post photos! That family photo reminds me of the Incredibles, how ironic as you all are incredible. (That includes your unseen, yet seen, photographer!)

And just so you know, I don't always comment, but I'm here every day, enjoying and absorbing!!

I love that family portrait. You definitely need to have it printed nice and big. What a great reminder of what a fun and awesome group of people your family is. :)

So glad it turned out so well! He did an awesome job on his talk! Love the pictures, especially the Power Rangers in the first pic.

That is the best family picture I have ever seen.

And I love the view of Timp in the background. It makes me homesick.

I wish I could say I came up with the idea for that top family shot, but that is all Burton. You guys rock! :)

I love non traditional photo's of families! That one rocks!

Wonderful looking family and friends and food, celebrating an awesome new missionary. Good luck and God speed to him.
