Musical Monday: New Shoes
This is my pleasant-natured, red-headed, so-easy-to-be-around son who leaves in 2 days to serve a mission
for our church. He is cute and quirky (see how his collar is undone?). He is a complete joy, and will be
missed tremendously. But in the spirit of his happy personality, I opted out of doing anything sad and sappy
for my post today, and instead have chosen to do Paulo Nutrini's New Shoes, because it is one
of Elder Burton's favorites that he introduced me to a few weeks back.

What a fun song! I feel exactly that way about shoes :-) but not because Imelda Marcos and I are from the same country, lol! Your son sounds like someone who would get along really well with my own kids--- quirky and fun loving, although mine might be a little sassier :-)

I'm so happy for Elder Burton. He sure has a lot of people praying for him!
Oh, in 2 days??? Where is his mission call? (I served in Uruguay, so anything south of the border turns on my tear-ducts automatically).
As I've heard said before, there may be an epidural when you give birth, but when a child serves a mission, what then??? (I say this: lots of hugs & love & support & happy joy, knowing he's serving the Lord, no matter how much he will be dearly missed, he will come home much changed & even more AmAzInG!!!)

I am looking back through some of your old posts. This particular date is very dear to my heart. We sent my son to the MTC on March 17 to serve in Portland Oregon. April 5, 2010 we get a wake up call at 0630 with the most energetic young man on the other end of the line.
What amazing lives we lead. How lucky we are to know that our son's are the "Lords" for 2 years and that they will watched over. He has been out now for 5 months. Hard to believe that time still continues to move even when we wish it could stand still.
