Musical Monday: Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You

I remember my parents listening to this one when I was a kid.  When you have a song with such a cool vibe you will hear it covered over and over again because it has staying power.  I fell back in love with it when I got the Lauryn Hill CD maybe ten years ago.

So I just turned on the mic and went for it, which was a nice change from the blood, sweat and tears (almost not kidding) last week when I had to work hard on C'Etait L'Hiver.

Give a listen, and then go hug someone you love.

Love this song! You forced my husband and I to go on a google party to figure out what movie we had seen it in. Ha! (Conspiracy Theory in case you wondered). Good times. You did a great job!

TFG, I just grew up hearing Frankie Valley doing it, and then all of these other bands started covering it. Conspiracy Theory, huh? Cool! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

Odd how music can make us remember -- even scents and the feel of the air. The crisp tang of autumn whenever I hear THE AUTUMN LEAVES. Or the smell of cherry blossoms when I hear the AGE OF AQUARIUS.

It's why music plays such a strong role in my urban fantasy, FRENCH QUARTER NOCTURNE.

Thanks for all the obvious effort and creativity you put into your blog. It's appreciated, Roland

Nicely done. And now that I've watched you record, I swear I can picture you dance and wiggle during certain parts of this song.

Dance maybe. Wiggle never.

It is a much more controlled environment when I record solo, but more fun to collaborate. ;).

So pretty! Now hugging my cat! (She's conveniently nearby.)

Thanks for planting this lovely tune in my head on a Monday morning. What a nice way to start the week.

I love that rough jazzy edge to your voice in this one!

Ooooh, smoky! I can believe it about the blood sweat and tears last week. I can't get that song out of my head, I just love it. I can't find a version of it sung by anyone else but I did listen to some others by Cabrel and I prefer your voice.
