day 302: sweet relief, please
All I wanted at 8 pm was a piece of dense, thick, chocolate cake. I still can't get it out of my mind. I have been planted in my living room for six hours writing lesson plans and weekly lesson outlines, and I actually picked up my phone a few times to beg a friend to get me out of here and to somewhere where there is cake. But I always stared at the phone, without dialing. Fear of someone saying they couldn't swing it, fear of all the work I would still have to do once I got home.It is 1:07, and I am going to bed. I will be up at 4:30 to finish my preparations for this six-week practicum, where I am learning tons, but feeling completely swallowed. I miss my kids. I miss my husband. I miss reading blogs. I miss myself even.
Yeah, it's late (early) and I am a bit downtrodden.

Oh, good night Kazzy. If we lived closer I would bake you a chocolate cake and deliver it within an hour (okay, maybe 1 1/2 hours) anytime you wanted one. Chocolate cake really makes difficult tasks easier.
I'm sorry you're feeling so swamped. I hope you make it through this six weeks and feel like it was well worth the effort! Keep up the good work! (and I wish a longer night's rest for you tomorrow night! Man!
Now I want chocolate cake. Thanks a lot! Good thing there's a Magleby's in town now.
Anytime between noon and midnight I'm up for a snack run; I'll even dump my husband and kids for it most days.
I'm guessing that if we go for it at midnight our choices are going to be limited to Hostess Donettes and those nasty sawdust doughnuts from the gas station. But like you've said before, sometimes beggars can't be choosers.
This to shall pass. Hoping today is brighter for ya.
Whiny whiny me.
funny how sugar makes us feel better...a reward for the hard work. We need rewards! It will be all worth it!
Thinking of you! This sounds very intense, but you will do it!
I'll take you to get cake!!! Magleby's Fresh has a killer chocolate cake. Seriously-if you wanna go, let me know!
You need my cell phone number. You totally could have called me and I'd have been there with bells on (whatever that means).
I hope you got that cake!
You'll make it through. Go for the cake next time, it helps everything (but your waistline) feel better.
I wish I were there to give you a hug..............and a fat piece of triple layered chocolate cake.
That is sad, you miss your kids, you miss your husband. The least you could do is get some chocolate cake. I hope you get some today.
Oh that swallowed up feeling. It plays tricks on the memory sometimes and makes it hard to remember what it feels like to NOT be swallowed. Hope those memories hold fast and pull you through this tough, but rewarding time!
Also, I wish you cake.
You are moving ahead with your life and that's a good thing. Oh, yeah, that chocolate cake would be a good thing too!
Hang in there!
Hey guys, thanks so much for your supportive words. As per usual, I just woke from my afternoon nap I take each day, and was touched to read your kindnesses. I am fine, just burned out.
Sometimes chocolate is the only thing that will do, isn't it. Well, chocolate and an army of sisters.
