hail to the queen
I couldn't help myself. There we were at the wedding dinner last Friday night and I was seated right behind Aunt Larene. The 88-year old woman who never changes. Who always has a sweet smile. Who has taken great care of herself. Who has the most brilliant white hair I have ever seen. I had to snap a photo so that I could remember that it's ok to get old. And maybe one day I can be a silvery queen too.

Some of the smartest, quickest, funniest people I've had the pleasure of knowing had hair like that. I definitely don't fear going gray. Actually, the sooner the better, I say, if it means I can be as awesome as some of the ladies I've known.
If I could have lovely silvery hair like your aunt I would not color mine. My natural blond has over the years become grey in some places, white in some places, and a light brown in other places. So for now, I try to keep it looking natural. I think it is a nice picture of the back of her head, and I am impressed with the description of her you give here in the post. Sounds like a lovely woman.
If haircolor is a sign of awesomeness, then indeed she is awesome. I love the silvery gorgeousness.
Long live the Queen.
I hope that one day I, too, can be a silvery queen!
It was the most tender thing to dress my mom for burial and see her beautiful hair. It had gone absolutely white since I'd seen her just a short time before. The sweet nurses at the hospital had, so kindly, styled it before taking her to the funeral home. She looked like the wise incredible woman she was.
Love white hair. I hope I can be like the people with brilliant white hair, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have mouse grey when I "grow up."
I think those of us with dark hair have a good chance of having that beautiful silver hair when we are old.
We have a bunch of older sisters who sit together in Relief Society - I look at the backs of their hair and some of them look absolutely regal.
Glad you got the picture!
I have found white hairs in my dark eyebrows and deep down I am pleased. Your aunt's hair is gorgeous!
I love white hair. My grandmother was always so proud of hers!
I'd like to do the bluing thing with it, though...like all the little old ladies on my mission in Romania. It just made me smile to see them with various shades of blue and purple hair.
I totally would have taken a picture.
That makes me smile too, because I know so many wonderful old women. I hope I age as well.
white hair is so beautiful
