mysterium

That this babe, this miracle, would come in the most humble of circumstances,
Unnoticed by all but the donkey, the cow, the sheep.

His mother, a young girl chosen for her innocence.  Her willingness.
To be found this worthy.  To be the vessel of the Lord.

I read.  I listen.  I ponder your words, and I am awestruck.
I am in the stable, in the rafters, looking on the entrance of the king.

(my personal translation of the classical text O magnum mysterium)

Can't wait for the performance. Especially this song.

Thoughts from the heart. Words that stir the heart.

The Lauridsen setting of this text is probably my favorite thing I have ever sung with a choir. It brings me to tears every time I hear it.

Thanks for the translation...it's easy to miss sometimes what we're really singing about when it's a different language.

I sooooo love that song! My daughter used to go to Temple Square to perform and they sang that 3 years ago. I still cry when I hear it.

Oh how gorgeous. Just drinking it in.

Lara, I am gaga for the Lauridesen setting. The one my choir is doing is from DeMorales, about 1550.

I am a little late but this is beautiful. It is 7:02 am and this is a great start to my day - the first day of December :-D
Thanks

Isn't Melanie's comment delightful? And I need to come back to Utah. That's where all the good choirs are! Thanks for this beautiful moment, Kaz.

I often feel like I stand at the stable doors and marvel at the miracle inside. Sometimes, it takes longer than it should to walk inside.
