thick sap

When your boy is a high school senior you find yourself thinking, "This will be the last time we attend a jazz ensemble concert." Or "Weird that we won't have early morning marching band ever again."

It is both gut-wrenching and terrific at the same time when new eras begin.

So I sit here a little choked up as I think about my boys becoming men. I get pre-nostalgia nostalgia.  Followed by nostalgia.

Sappy, sappy me.

I guess it depends on what his college major will be; my SIL's kids both attend college for music, so they have at least four more years of concerts :)

I was glad to see the end of getting up early all summer long for my senior's marching band after 4 years of it. But at his last band concert that he had, I was thinking the same thing as you, except he will have another concert since his concert band, percussion ensemble, and jazz band are year long. I will have to document his last one really well. :)
