day 337: clean

I step down into the water ready to start my spiritual life.  New.  Fresh.  Clean.
I see my parents, some good friends, and some people I don't even know there to offer support and a smile.

Prayer said.  Promises made.  Breath held.
Then down I go, submerging my old self.

Here I am now, still feeling, sometimes, like that teenager who was beginning a new way.
I am young and new at this, years later.

I am glad to still feel dripping wet.

And shouldn't we always feel this way? As always, thanks for the reminder and little wake up call.

Good for you! Too many people get jaded by the demands of life. Keeping that fresh outlook takes a good attitude!

Letting go of the old like sloughing old skin is so cleansing. Hugs to you for still feeling the newness of the experience.

Beautiful thoughts.

Interesting read. There's something very strong in the symbolism of full-body-submersion... at any age.

I was 8 but your words made me remember the dripping wet feeling. Thanks.

Beautiful! I just witnessed the immersion of my oldest grand. She came up, dripping wet, sputtering a bit, then said with a breath of relief, "Whoo, I made it!"

I hope she keeps that feeling and attitude and at the same time, knows it's just the beginning.

I love this. It reminds me that it's possible to still feel the freshness of it.
