road trip day 2

As we passed through Kansas City today, heading east, we decided to go to Independence and Liberty, MO to see church history sites.

Liberty Jail was thick with the spirit, with stone walls, kind missionaries. Questions answered, hymns sung.

Good day. More tomorrow. Need to take a hot shower and get some Missouri sleep. Off to St. Louis tomorrow for a stop on our way to Columbus, Ohio for the night. Go Buckeyes.

WOW lady. You are a traveling woman! Looks wonderful. That is something I'd like to do someday (ya, if someday ever comes).

Do you have room in your back seat for one more, very small (ok, large Amazon) woman? I'll meet you in St. Louis! Looks like so much fun. I'd love to see the church history sites!
Looking forward to Day 3 posting.

One of the men in the Liberty Jail diorama is my great great great great grandfather, Caleb Baldwin. I went to Liberty for the first time about a year ago. When we told the sister missionaries who our ancestor was, they gave us private time, just our family (myself, my six sisters and my parents). It was such a wonderful experience--just seeing the pics of it in your blog make me cry.

Wow. Liberty Jail. I have never been there. But such rich history. Your writing is spare and deep.
