day 139: chatty

My kiddos were so so chatty today.  One boy yelled every answer to every question I asked.  Most of them talked right over top of me as I was up front attempting to lead the class, you know, as the teacher.  We adults, on the other hand, were daydreaming of warm beds and pjs and daytime TV.

But it wasn't really until I saw their little faces that I realized how much I had missed them over the break.  The little cuties.  They make me happy.  And I am glad to chat about that.

I am sure they missed you too.

It sounds like everyone had some deliciously lingering holiday mindsets as you all dipped your toes back into a regular routine. Getting to tell all your friends, and your teacher, about what you did over Christmas break is almost as good as Christmas itself. Almost. ;)

I wonder if that initial day back is as hard for them as it is for us! At least they didn't ALL lose their language skills over the break!

There are days that my kids won't shut up. And the minute I start to let my attention wander, I remind myself that they MISSED ME and someday I'll WANT my teenagers to talk to me.

I'm glad yours do.

Ah, the first day back from break and needing to retrain them....they are cute when they return and I aways thought they had grown up a bit.

My son came home from school so talkative, and didn't stop for like 30 minutes. I had to remember that he was so excited to be back in school and see his friends. Kids are so cute.

I'm dreaming of warm beds and pjs, too, just chocolate in place of the daytime TV.

Chatty can be fun. I like to listen to kiddos stream of consciousness chatter, they say the most amazing things!

I too was so glad to have the students back in my building. It was so too quiet for me without them. I like all the action with the BYU students, but I do miss those little ones. Enjoy this rest of the year.
