seeing a soul

Sometimes it just rips right through your bones and skin and reaches out.  It is like an extension of your heart that can grip things and pull them toward you.  And then you can look square into someone's eyes and see beyond the color and the reflection.  You see intention and concern and soul.

This is true connection.  It is love and friendship and empathy.  And the real trick, for me, is tucking those things back in when it is time to do something else.  Ungrip.  Unlook.  Unsee.

You are a deep thinker and feeler. I love it.

I've been thinking about the second part of this lately - how sometimes, that connection that we dream of, pray for, seek out... is just too much and we have to take the step backwards and just Live the Life for a while.

I have trouble getting that connection in the first place. I've been blessed with it a few times, and then I go back to my usual, sarcastic self and it disappears.

Ya know what? I just really, really love what you write! Always gets me thinking.

This has so much contrast. Yearning and shyness in one. I think I feel that so often, this longing to connect and then I fear to do it.

There are some souls we connect with better than others. Then we go along our merry way and forget.

Nicely written.

I think we know each other soul to soul and some we know better than others. I think when we meet we recognize something...or remember something.

When you unhook and let go though, you have changed and been enhanced by the experience. Every tiny moment matters, doesn't it?

"...see beyond the color and the reflection. You see intention and concern and soul." I think this is how Christ sees us, beyond physicality. He sees not parts but the whole.

Being sensitive to others is such a blessing. Sometimes, it's a bit of a burden, too. Thankfully, the good parts carry us through :)

Wow. This is something that is always fleeting for me. It kind of scares me. Your attitude is so great.

Ack! I want to hear more. You could win a contest for best hook.

This is both true and deeply beautiful, Karen.

It's been a long time since I've had to unsee. That's a hard skill.

One should also have the permission or approval of the grab-ee before you spritually grab them. Maybe they don't want to be grabbed, or they might not want to be grabbed by you.

Spiritual perception is not always one way.

Ungrip, unlook, see. Poetic truths, thank you.
