my reasons to make it work

Tag-team parenting.  Yes, that is the new popular sport at the Burton house.  A little two-ships-that-pass-in-the-night action too.  But somehow we have been able to stay afloat because we love each other and we love our life together.

I have too many friends to name that have had their marriages fall apart lately.  I won't pretend to know the details or the reasons why, but I do know that a mid-life crisis is a real thing.  Men can feel trapped.  Women can feel invisible.  And often once one of them feels a chance for change they think it has to be done without the other person.  My life can only be different if I start all the way over.  Sometimes this may be true.  In extreme cases.

I love my husband.  I love my kids.  That's it.  No preaching.

Yeah, I often feel guilty for still sort of liking my husband.

Amen sister! Makes me so sad to see marriages end.

And, I am in love with your roller derby picture. But, what was your roller derby NAME?

You look awesome as a roller derby chick! I'm a little bit scared!

Amen on the marriages ending. Too heartbreaking.

Your hub's face is priceless. I think he has a gem of a wife and I bet he knows it.

I hate midlife crises. I'm just hoping that if you expect it to come and try to have a plan of sorts that it will all be okay. But of course the most important thing is, as you say, to love your husband and kids. And to show it.

You should be proud of the "47" as you look great, and so does your family.

It is so sad when marraiges end. It is kind of scary - I always wonder why?
It is definately worth the effort to make it work each and every day!

LOVE the Roller Derby look. I may have to use that sometime. I have always been a HUGE Charlies Angels fan.. and I always LOVED the episode " Angels on Wheels." That is seriously the first thing I thought of when I saw your pic.

Random.

I know exactly what you mean. I feel guilty for being in a good place in my marriage! Why?? So many of my friends are in a bad, bad place. I feel for them much. And I feel guilty.

It is so hard to see marriages fall apart--ones you thought would never go through that. I've seen a couple happen this summer. Makes you want to work that much harder on your own!

Your boys are ADORABLE! (Are they too old for that word? Nah!)
I love marriage. It's hard but I'm gonna do whatever it takes to keep mine together. It's always nice to hear of others doing the same. It gives me hope and makes me happy.

I loved seeing your family pictures. And a good reminder to me to be sweeter to my husband. I take him for grated too much.
