Musical Monday: What Child Is This?

Yes, Christmas has begun here at The Ponderings. With only 10 weeks left until the big day I thought it would be fun to start the holiday tunes.

So this is how we will do it. The song requests made by the first AND the last commenters on each Musical Monday post will be considered for the following Monday (the polls will close at midnight on that Monday). Please remember to limit your requests to Christmas music.

How about this one, Kaz? We three Kings of Orient Are. Tried to light a rubber cigar. It was loaded-it EXPLODED now we're on Yonder starrrrrrrrrr

Actually, DO the legitimate Version of that. I love it. You Rock, Kaz.

It's never too late for Christmas music but it looks like I'm too late to be the first commenter! Oh well, maybe next week because I would love to hear you sing "O Holy Night"
Hope all is well at your house and that everyone is away from the hospital.
Beautiful song

Ooh-We Need A Little Christmas. Good song.

Beautiful Kazzy! That is one of my favorite Christmas songs. Your version might just make it onto my mp3 player. :)

as far as requests, um, what about Mary Did You Know?

I have to add (making my last comment not the last comment LOL) that my son came over while I was listening and says "she sings that pretty good." :)

Oh, and now I agree with barbaloot. We need a Little Christmas. I love that song!

Dang. I missed the deadline. Great idea. Your music is so fun. I have always loved that song.

My favorite Christmas song is Silver Bells.

You've just done one of my favourites. Lovely!

Why didn't I think of this? Because it's brilliant, that's why. I don't do brilliant.

Not that it matters, but I love the really old ones (like "O Come Emmanuel" and "In Dulci Jubilo", complete with hand drum and tambourine) and the cheesy ones, like "Chestnuts" and "White Christmas". Oh, and the entire Carpenters Christmas Album. Every. Single. Song.

Why anyone allows me within 40 yards of a musical instrument or a boom box during the holidays is a true mystery to me.

(Yes, I said boom box. I may be old, but so is my "stereo"!)

Your voice was made for O Come O Come Emmanuel but I could totally go for Oh Holy Night, as well. I am currently listenting to What Child is This (another big fave of mine) and I love it so much that I think I will have to insist that you cut a Christmas CD. This should be on it and the other two I mentioned and Ding Dong Merrily On High. Oh--and Ave Maria, but the Shubert version, not the Gonoud. Or is it the other way around? I can never remember. I really prefer the one over the other, the more rare one . .. gives me the chills every time. Love you!

This was beautiful! Mondays have now become my favorite day - I can't wait to hear you sing Christmas songs every week!

(I promise I'm not trying to suck up - but O Come O Come Emmanuel is my very favorite song of all Christmas music) :)

This is one of my all-time favorites. You do it so beautifully.

I'm just planting this comment here to let you know that I've been catching up with you. I have smiled mightily more than a few times, to read how chaotic your schedule has been these past few months since you began teaching. I'm glad you're enjoying your job, even if the paperwork and administrative obligations get in the way sometimes.

I'm sorry to hear your son got hurt, but I'm also happy that he's healing well.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving, Kazzy :)
