back with some random musings on life

I have been gone from the blogosphere for a full seven days, and I have felt the loss. Flat on my back for three days with chills, fever, and, sorry, mucus. Man, it has been rough.

On top of being physically out of it, I have been over-booked with other things, like homework, etc.

And then there was the big purchase that kind of fell through on the other end. Well, did fall through. Cryptic? Yup. But I have been nursing a little disappointment this week, which tasted good for awhile. Now I am ready to just get on with things, and it's all good.

So. Moving forward with faith is the theme for now. I am happy but raw. Have you ever been there? No deep complaints, but feelings of uneasiness? Tentativeness?

Life is good. My married son and his sweet wife are well and so adorable. My missionary is happy and healthy. My handsome teenage guys are awesome. They make me laugh. They do their best. And I realized as I was driving to BYU today that I have been married to my husband for exactly half my life. I love him. He looks at me with softness in his eyes. Sappy but true. He roots me on and supports me in my craziness.

I am headed back to your blogs this week, I hope. April 1 is the date I am aiming for, friends. Licensing done. Homework done. Breathe.

I hope you are feeling on top of the game.
Sounds like you have had a myriad of emotions and not necessarily fun ones.
You are awesome and totally conquering it all.

I'm so sorry you were sick! I love your optimism on life, though! Good luck with everything.

I've seen the way your husband looks at you. It's awesome. And your teenage boys are adorable. Being sick is the everloving pits, as is pressure and deadlines and massive hoop-jumping. Pace yourself, my friend. Sending a hug your wat!

Way. Sending a hug your WAY.

I think when life is so busy, and when isn't it right, that it is almost a blessing to get sick and have to chill out for a few days.
However, I am glad to hear you are back and recovering.
Good Luck with all you have to do!

So glad you're feeling better. You've been missed for sure.

Sorry you weren't feeling well. Hope the health comes back, the disappointment goes away, and the pride and love for your family stays:)

Marianne | January 31, 2011 at 10:12 PM

Sorry you were sick! I've missed you, and I wondered where you were. Glad you're up and around again!

Hang in there with the busy-ness and the crazyness! You're almost there!!

It's funny to read this as I just returned from my own blog break. Like you, I felt the distance. I do hope you are feeling better because nothing says "relax" like a good dose of illness. (Insert frowny face.)

Joanie | January 31, 2011 at 11:06 PM

Glad you are feeling better. I am all to familiar with the feelings of uneasiness. Life will get better.

coming by from Misssrobin's blog...

Sorry you have not been feeling well... me neither!
But glad you are on the mend, in health and heart. Sometimes we need some downtime to get things right inside ourselves. At least I know I do. After the horrible flu I had I need some time to build my strength and stamina back up... not just the physical but the emotional as well. But, with 5 kids and a husband at home and a job or 2 that I had to get back to this week... I don't think that's gonna happen. Oh well... we move onward and forward and do what we can and what we must because we are the Mom, the Wife the keeper of our family's welfare.
Yeah, we do it all and we love doing it.
Take care!

I've been wondering where you were! I love catching your view of life... I hope it is on it's way up!

Becca | February 1, 2011 at 10:04 AM

When my kids were small and on the brink of a meltdown, usually from being concerned with how to handle what I'd asked them to do, I'd rescind the job for a second, look them right in the face, and say, for the next two minutes, all you have to do is breathe. In. Out. Just breathe.

There are some days when I still use the mantra, but mostly for myself.

I got sick too right around New Years. Isn't it weird how getting sick kinda puts things into perspective. You are so inspiring.

Rachel Cotterill | February 1, 2011 at 1:39 PM

I hope you're feeling better now? We miss you - but don't rush your recovery, the blogosphere will still be here whenever you're ready!

Sick can be so...sick. Glad you're back with us in the land of the living (land of the crazy). Onwards & upwards!

Robin | February 2, 2011 at 12:38 AM

Glad so many things are going well. Best wishes on the licensing deadline. And I hope I didn't get you sick. That sounds a lot like what I left Stake Conference with.

CiCi | February 2, 2011 at 5:19 AM

Hope you are feeling super healthy by now. I so like the way you describe the way your husband looks at you. Sigh. Nice.

Jenny Lynn | February 2, 2011 at 5:38 AM

Kazzy, I am feeling the same way these days. I am not sure if it is the sickness talking or what, but the uneasiness you mentioned...I got that!

Feel better soon!!!

Crazy Life of a Writing Mom | February 2, 2011 at 6:57 AM

I'm glad you're feeling better ;)

wendy | February 2, 2011 at 9:29 AM

feelings of tentativeness and uneasiness----I got that.
It keeps me awake at night.

I am striving for "calm" and JOY.
maybe a little Normal, whatever that is.
continue to get well---physically and emotionally

Connie | February 2, 2011 at 4:49 PM

Dang, girl! I'm so sorry you've been so sick! I'm missing out on a lot of your life and I hate it!
Take care. April 1st will be here soon!

Mrs4444 | February 3, 2011 at 10:08 PM

Happy for the update.
Hope you're feeling better!
I also hope to talk with that missionary son of yours (or at least someone who can connect me to some middle school kids out that way :)
