day seventy-seven: the dairy group

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with my whimpy problems. And then I remember that halfway across the world in Kenya there is a handsome young man that sometimes has had to choke down curdled milk.
I'm good, thanks.

I don't know if there's anything worse than the smell/taste of that! Thanks for putting things in perspective:)

Gag!

But yes, that does provide a lot of perspective! I need to remember back to my own missionary days when I feel like complaining about my life now.

That reminds me of having to drink buttermilk on my mission. I love the "with tiffany and justin for all" comment.

Gulp. (deep breathing, deep breathing...)

I hope they don't do that in Independence, Missouri!! :-)

Problems, no matter what size, have a way of filling all available space. (In other words, I doubt you are ever wimpy about anything.)

Perspective can be lovely, lovely stuff.

Okay eww! And true. Perspective is everything.

Today I am very grateful for my refrigerator, the grocery store down the block and money to spend there.

Nothing like perspective.

I keep remembering the picture of my brother eating silkworm larvae.

Yeah. I'm good.

Fun! I just don't eat anything I don't like here. They regularly drink buttermilk and kefir over here (not quite sure what the difference is, but I drink neither, though I like them poured on my mashed potatoes) They also sell what roughly translates to "rotten milk". No kidding. Not sure if some people drink it or what it's used for, but SO weird to have that in the dairy section by a bunch of normal, non-rotten dairy products.
